Kitchen helpers?DirectBuy donates kitchen appliances to Trinity Home for Boys in El Monte, California

EL MONTE, CA…

Fortunately, DirectBuy of Ventura County and DirectBuy of San Fernando Valley stepped up to the plate by donating much needed kitchen appliances.

The donations included a microwave oven from DirectBuy of Ventura County, located at 1445 Lawrence Drive in Thousand Oaks, and an oven range, an electric wall oven and gas cook top courtesy of DirectBuy of San Fernando Valley, located at 2850 North Ontario Street in Burbank.

“We’ve experienced a significant reduction in state funding over the last several years and, unfortunately, the kitchen is starting to show the effects,” said Joey Seward, a spokesperson for Trinity Youth Services. “A donation of this magnitude is doubly appreciated because it is new equipment, enabling us to continue the culinary classes we offer the boys, but it is also large enough to help in the preparation of meals for all our residents.”

The Trinity Home in El Monte is supported by the Children’s Foundation of America. The primary goal of the Foundation is to identify and access resources to support foster care, residential treatment and education programs of the highest quality, so that children who have been the victims of abuse, neglect or abandonment may lead, healthy, productive lives. The Foundation currently supports programs for children in California, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada through Trinity Foster Care, Trinity Residential Services, Triad Family Services and Advanced Education Services.

“Trinity Youth Services is doing incredible work under less than ideal fiscal conditions,” said Greg Johnson, managing partner of DirectBuy of Ventura County. “We’re happy to make this contribution and encourage other businesses to step up and help this very worthwhile organization.”

Reasons To Buy Health Insurance For Your Helpers By Medimanage.com

Take One: Your house is in a mess, there has been no cleaning done for days now, the floor looks dirty and clothes are piling in the washing machine waiting to be cleaned. Courtesy: your maid, who is on a sick leave.

Take Two: You are trying to juggle between chores, when you realize that you even have to pack your kid’s tiffin box and lunch for your hubby, all the more, they are waiting for breakfast and you find yourself in a complete chaos. Courtesy: your cook has just met with an accident.

Take Three: The husband is upset, late for work, as he has been waiting endlessly for the driver, but is now left with no option but to take a cab to work. Courtesy: the driver just called to inform about his ailing mother.

Isn’t it in their absence that you realize how much your helpers mean to you? It cannot be denied that your life virtually depends on them and the absence of a helper can be a strong reason for stress and headache and sometimes even weight loss!

But when the reasons pertain to illness, sickness and ailments, it is all the more disturbing. And as an employer, it becomes your legal and moral responsibility to ensure their treatment and safety as far as they are on your payroll.

Just like your health is insured by your organization, you in turn need to get health insurance for your helpers including your maid, cook, driver and those employed by you. Everyone is entitled to authentic and good medical treatment, but often it is the finance part that comes in the way of opting for a good hospitalization or treatments.

Here comes the role of Health Insurance:

Rising costs: As an employer, if you get your helpers’ health insured, you would not be faced with a financial burden at the nick of time, and can smoothly get them treated. Else, besides doing all the chores yourself, you also end up paying from your pocket for their treatment and medical expenses if they do not have a health insurance.
Severe ailments: Although normal fever, cold and cough, is common and do not require overt expenses, the problem arises when ailments get severe and complex. And that is when you realize the importance of getting your helpers insured.
Moral obligation: While, each one us wants to get the best treatment possible, so do our helpers. But they can do only so much as they can afford. When ailments are complex, it requires huge expenses which they have to shell out of their earnings. However, if we get them insured for minimum amounts, they can avail of authentic treatment from reasonable hospitals.
Legal obligation: You are legally liable for your helper’s health until the time he is employed by you. Also, your helper can slap a legal notice on you in case something goes wrong while working for you, and you refuse help. In fact, there are lawyers who thrive by arguing for such cases
Loyalty: Once your helper uses the insurance, that is, once he claims, he will then become loyal customer and would remain with the insurance company for a longer time.

So, what are the options available?

Well, you can avail of plans offered by different insurance companies that involve minimum coverage amount and low premium rates so that your helpers can afford it. To read more about Reasons to buy Health Insurance for your helpers
